Whether as art to beautify a space, or as a new and meaningful addition to your quiver, KAIROU draws upon over 30 years of combined luthier experience to breath new life into time-tested designs.

We customize in 5 general board classes:

  • ITAGO - a traditional Japanese hand-board.

  • PAE PO’O - a traditional Hawaiian belly board

  • ALAIA - a short traditional, finless Hawaiian surfing board, rideable prone or standing.

  • OLO - a long, traditional, finless, Hawaiian surfing board, meant to ride standing.

  • PURE CUSTOM - 1-of-1 fabrication

All custom orders require a non-refundable deposit of >/= 20% of the baord’s estimated final price before work begins.

  1. Estimated completion dates are approximate and may vary due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., material availability, weather, natural disaster, catastrophe, shaping queue, etc.).

  2. Any significant changes to the order after the deposit is paid may incur additional charges and extend the completion time.

  3. The customer will be notified upon completion of the surfboard and must arrange for pickup or shipping within 7 days.

  4. Disclaimer for Traditional/Finless Boards: Please be aware that learning to surf on a finless board, especially one crafted using wood, by traditional methods, presents a significantly higher degree of difficulty and inherent risk compared to learning on modern surfing equipment with fins. These boards offer a unique and challenging experience, but require advanced skill and caution.
