7'10" PHS Redwood Finless "Waikiki Model" Replica Surfboard

$16,500.00

This replica surfboard was lovingly created, and painstakingly finished by hand, from specifications published by Pacific Homes Systems, of Los Angeles, California, circa 1932-1941.

Made of select California Redwood plys over a chambered Cedar core, the body of the surfboard features a pronounced vee in the tail and a substantial concave beneath the board’s wide point.

The center stringer features a traditional Hawaiian tattoo motif crafted from Ebony, Mango, and Koa woods, depicting the journey of water from the dark caverns of Hawaii’s volcanic aquifer to the wide basins of her lowland taro fields. The KAIROU mon - a mark of quality and precision craftsmanship at the intersection of Hawaiian and Japanese stylistic influences - sits proudly to the right of the stringer.

Though based upon historic watercraft and designed to function, this board is meant to be appreciated as decorative art. At less than 8 feet long, she is a stately and beautiful addition to any interior space, ideal for display, ambiance, or to compliment your personal art collection.

  • Made of Redwood, Cedar, Koa, Ebony, and Mango wood

  • 7’10” L x 26.5” W x 4” T

  • Approximately 70lbs / 32kg

  • Finless, wooden hardbody surfboard.

  • Varnished to an ‘Art Quality’ finish for longevity and display beauty

  • 10% of proceeds to benefit the Maui Mutual Aid Fund, directly helping victims of the August 8th wildfire that destroyed parts of Lahaina, Kihei, and Upcountry Maui

  • Designed, built, and finished in Honolulu, Hawai’i.

  • Signed by KAIROU founders Mauikanehoalani Lovell & Paul Kaleionamauia Okami

  • Native Hawaiian Made
